Benign prostatic hyperplasia

The prostate is a male-specific organ located below the bladder, surrounding the upper opening of the urethra where it joins the bladder. Therefore, its enlargement can easily compress the urinary passage, leading to difficulty in urination. Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is characterized by an increase in the number of prostate cells rather than the hypertrophy of individual cells. It is one of the most common benign diseases causing urinary obstruction in middle-aged and elderly men. This condition is prevalent in middle-aged and elderly men. The main symptoms include urinary hesitancy, frequent urination, and difficulty in urination.
