Atrial premature beats

Atrial premature beats, also known as atrial premature contractions, are abnormal atrial beats that originate from an ectopic focus in the atria and are a relatively common type of arrhythmia. Approximately 60% of healthy adults experience atrial premature beats during 24-hour Holter monitoring. They are more common in individuals with organic heart disease and can often trigger other arrhythmias.
