Gallbladder polyps

Gallbladder polyps refer to excrescences that grow on the mucous membrane of the gallbladder wall. They can be spherical or hemispherical, with or without a stalk, and are mostly benign. Since the nature of gallbladder polyps is difficult to confirm before surgery, they are broadly referred to as gallbladder polypoid lesions or gallbladder protruding lesions. Most patients have no discomfort, while a few may experience upper abdominal fullness and discomfort, or right upper quadrant pain or colic after consuming fatty foods.
