Gallstones

Cholelithiasis refers to the condition where gallstones form in the gallbladder. Cholelithiasis can be asymptomatic or manifest as biliary colic, postprandial fullness, etc. The specific clinical manifestations depend on factors such as the location of the gallstones, whether they cause biliary obstruction, and infection. Cholelithiasis primarily affects adults, with the incidence increasing with age after 40, and is more common in women than men. The incidence of cholelithiasis is relatively high in economically developed cities and northwestern regions of China, which may be related to dietary habits.
