Liver cyst

Hepatic cysts refer to all cystic diseases occurring in the liver, mostly benign lesions. Hepatic cysts can be divided into simple hepatic cysts (including solitary and multiple hepatic cysts) and polycystic liver disease (polycystic liver). In addition, there is a special type—hepatic echinococcosis, i.e., hepatic echinococcal cysts. Simple hepatic cysts are more common in patients aged 20-50 years, with a male-to-female ratio of approximately 1:4. This disease has no risk of malignancy and usually does not affect liver function. Many hepatic cysts accompany patients throughout their lives without causing any clinical symptoms.
