Hepatic echinococcosis is a zoonotic disease caused by infection with the larval stage of Echinococcus species, leading to a chronic parasitic disease. This disease is prevalent in populations residing in pastoral areas. The main symptoms include a feeling of fullness in the liver and compressive symptoms.
