Detailed description
There is a very important dividing line near the human anus, which is medically known as the "dentate line" because of its saw-like shape. If the blood vessels above the dentate line become tortuous and dilated, internal hemorrhoids form; if the blood vessels below the dentate line become tortuous and dilated, external hemorrhoids form. If both internal and external hemorrhoids are present at the same location above and below the dentate line, and they are interconnected and merge into one, it is called mixed hemorrhoids.
Symptoms include post-defecation bleeding, prolapse of internal hemorrhoids, anal discomfort, perianal moisture, edema, and pain.
