Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) refers to a permanent localized dilation of the abdominal aorta, generally defined as an aneurysm when the diameter increases by more than 50%.
Most patients are usually asymptomatic, but if the aneurysm ruptures, patients may experience severe abdominal pain, hypotension, and massive hemorrhage. The condition is extremely critical, and patients may die within a short period.
