Aortic sclerosis

The aorta is the largest artery in the body, originating directly from the heart, and it transports blood from the heart to various parts of the body. Aortic atherosclerosis refers to the hardening, thickening, and loss of elasticity of the aortic wall due to various reasons, leading to thickening or narrowing of the lumen. This condition is a vascular disease that progresses with age, typically beginning in adolescence and worsening in middle to old age. It is a common form of arteriosclerosis.
