Carotid-cavernous fistula

Cervical arteriovenous fistula is an abnormal communication formed between arteries and veins in the neck. It can be divided into two types: Congenital cervical arteriovenous fistula: mainly multiple small lesions, often presenting with symptoms after 20 years of age. Acquired cervical arteriovenous fistula: includes communicating duct type, aneurysmal type, and foramen type. The main symptoms are the appearance of a mass after birth or neck trauma, with obvious bruits and thrills, often accompanied by neurological symptoms.
