Viral myocarditis

Viral myocarditis is an inflammatory disease of the myocardium caused by viral infection. It can occur at all ages, from infants to the elderly, with a higher incidence in children and adults under 40, and relatively rare in elderly patients. Many types of viruses can cause myocarditis, most of which originate from gastrointestinal or respiratory viral infections. The clinical manifestations of viral myocarditis depend on the severity of the condition, the extent of involvement, and the specific location. It usually begins with symptoms of viral infection, such as respiratory or gastrointestinal infection, followed by palpitations, chest pain, and dyspnea.
