External abdominal hernia

An abdominal wall hernia refers to the protrusion of intra-abdominal organs or tissues through a defect or weak area in the abdominal wall. The characteristic clinical manifestation is the appearance of a lump on the abdominal wall that may be intermittent or vary in size. According to the location of occurrence, abdominal wall hernias can be classified into inguinal hernia, femoral hernia, umbilical hernia, epigastric hernia, incisional hernia, parastomal hernia, and lumbar hernia. According to the clinical symptoms, abdominal wall hernias can be classified into reducible hernia, irreducible hernia, incarcerated hernia, and strangulated hernia.
