Intra-abdominal abscess

Abdominal abscess refers to a localized collection of pus within a specific space or area of the abdominal cavity, resulting from tissue necrosis and liquefaction, encapsulated by intestinal loops, viscera, abdominal wall, omentum, or mesentery. This condition often develops secondary to acute intra-abdominal inflammatory diseases or intra-abdominal surgery. It can be classified into subphrenic abscess, pelvic abscess, and interloop abscess, with subphrenic abscess being the most common. The main symptoms of this disease include abdominal pain, chills, high fever, and loss of appetite.
