Acute cellulitis

Acute cellulitis is an acute, diffuse, purulent infection that occurs in the subcutaneous tissue, including the subfascial, intermuscular, or deep cellular tissue. The lesion is not easily localized, spreads rapidly, and has no clear boundary with normal tissue. The main symptoms are redness, swelling, heat, and pain in the affected area, followed by rapid spread of inflammation along the subcutaneous tissue to the surrounding areas, with significant swelling and severe pain. Deep acute cellulitis often presents with systemic toxic symptoms such as chills, high fever, headache, and fatigue.
