Uterine fibroids are benign tumors formed by the monoclonal proliferation of smooth muscle cells in the myometrium, and are the most common pelvic tumors in women.
This disease is common in women of childbearing age between 30 and 50 years old, and is rare before the age of 20.
Generally, there are no symptoms, but symptomatic individuals may experience irregular menstruation, lower abdominal distension, and lower back pain.
