Dysmenorrhea

Dysmenorrhea is a gynecological condition characterized by periodic lower abdominal pain during or around menstruation, which may radiate to the lumbosacral region, or even cause severe pain and syncope. Dysmenorrhea is classified into primary dysmenorrhea and secondary dysmenorrhea, which differ significantly in their effects on the body and treatment. Primary dysmenorrhea: This refers to dysmenorrhea that occurs when there are no pathological changes in the reproductive system organs such as the uterus, ovaries, and fallopian tubes, accounting for over 90% of dysmenorrhea cases. It is more common in adolescent females. Secondary dysmenorrhea: This refers to dysmenorrhea caused by organic pelvic diseases, with common organic diseases being endometriosis and adenomyosis. It is more common in women of childbearing age. The main symptoms include periodic lower abdominal pain during or around menstruation, or lumbosacral pain, and even severe pain and syncope.
