Premature ovarian failure

Premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) refers to the loss of normal ovarian function in women before the age of 40. In this condition, the ovaries no longer produce normal levels of estrogen and do not ovulate regularly, leading to loss of fertility in most patients. It often manifests as irregular or absent menstrual periods, accompanied by infertility and symptoms similar to menopausal syndrome. Patients may experience osteoporosis, hot flashes, and cardiovascular diseases. Pregnancy is difficult for these patients, but they do not completely lose their fertility.
