Congenital absence of vagina

Congenital absence of the vagina is a malformation of the reproductive system caused by various factors during embryonic development. Patients with this condition have a normal female karyotype (46 XX) and normal external genitalia, but lack a vagina. This condition may or may not be accompanied by abnormalities of the uterus and ovaries.
