Intrauterine adhesions (IUA) are a common gynecological condition caused by trauma to the uterine cavity, leading to damage of the endometrial basal layer. This results in partial or complete obliteration of the uterine cavity, causing symptoms such as menstrual abnormalities, infertility, or recurrent miscarriage.
The main symptoms are menstrual abnormalities and abdominal pain. Some patients may also be asymptomatic.
