Sinoatrial block

Sinoatrial block refers to a delay or blockage in the conduction of electrical impulses from the sinoatrial node (the origin of normal cardiac pacing electrical activity) to the atria. Sinoatrial block can be temporary, recurrent, or persistent. It is commonly seen in patients with various heart conditions such as coronary heart disease and myocarditis. When sinoatrial block occurs, patients are often asymptomatic, but some may experience palpitations, fatigue, and a sensation of skipped heartbeats.
