Bartholinitis

Bartholinitis is an infection and inflammation caused by pathogens invading the Bartholin's glands. The Bartholin's glands are located deep in the lower one-third of the labia majora on both sides, and their ducts open between the hymen and the labia minora. This disease is common in women of childbearing age. The main symptoms include redness, swelling, heat, and pain in the labia. As the disease progresses, an abscess may form, which can severely impede normal movement and defecation.
