Hypertriglyceridemia

Hypertriglyceridemia is a type of dyslipidemia characterized by elevated triglyceride levels in the blood. It is diagnosed when blood triglyceride levels exceed 1.7 mmol/L. According to severity, it is classified as: Borderline high: Serum triglyceride levels between 1.7 and 2.3 mmol/L. High: Serum triglyceride levels between 2.3 and 5.6 mmol/L. Severely high: Serum triglyceride levels greater than 5.6 mmol/L. This condition is associated with various factors, including genetics and other diseases. It is usually asymptomatic, but some patients may develop xanthomas (pale yellow or orange plaques) and fatty liver.
