Edema in pregnancy

Gestational edema refers to the excessive retention of fluid in the interstitial spaces during pregnancy due to various physiological or pathological factors, leading to localized or generalized swelling in the body, which may be accompanied by other discomforts. It is classified into two types: physiological edema and pathological edema. The main symptom is localized or generalized body swelling.
