Puerperal heatstroke

Puerperal heatstroke, also known as postpartum heatstroke, is an acute heat illness that occurs in women during the puerperium (the 6-8 weeks after childbirth). It is caused by high indoor temperatures, high humidity, poor ventilation, and the mother's weakened physical condition, which prevent the timely dissipation of excess body heat and lead to impaired central thermoregulation. The affected population is postpartum women, with a higher incidence during the summer.
