Scarlet fever is an acute respiratory infectious disease caused by Group A β-hemolytic streptococci. It can affect anyone, but is particularly common in children and adolescents aged 5 to 15 years. The main clinical symptoms include fever, sore throat, diffuse bright red rash all over the body, and desquamation after the rash.
