Detailed description
Measles is an acute respiratory disease caused by infection with the measles virus. It is highly contagious and primarily spreads through droplets expelled when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks loudly.
This is a self-limiting disease with no specific treatment, and the condition generally improves within 2 weeks. Early symptoms include high fever, severe cold-like symptoms, and Koplik's spots. Brownish-red maculopapular rash appears a few days later.
