Pediatric sepsis

Pediatric sepsis refers to a systemic infectious disease caused by pathogenic bacteria or opportunistic pathogens invading the human bloodstream, growing and multiplying in the blood, and producing toxins. Common causative agents include Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Streptococcus pneumoniae, and Klebsiella pneumoniae. Pediatric sepsis typically has an acute onset and can cause systemic toxic symptoms such as fever, chills, muscle aches, fatigue, and poor appetite.
