Pharyngoconjunctival fever

Pharyngoconjunctival fever in children is an acute infectious disease caused by adenovirus infection, primarily by adenovirus types 3 and 7. It often occurs in spring and summer and can cause small epidemics among children living in groups. The onset of this disease is relatively acute, with main symptoms including high fever, sore throat, red eyes with minimal discharge, itching, stinging pain, tearing, and significant edema. It may also be accompanied by swollen lymph nodes in the neck, behind the ears, and in the jaw.
