Neonatal vomiting

Neonatal vomiting refers to the sudden contraction of the diaphragm and abdominal muscles, causing food in the stomach to be expelled through the esophagus and mouth. It is one of the common symptoms in the neonatal period. Newborns have a small stomach capacity, underdeveloped stomach, and a horizontal stomach position, making them prone to vomiting. This condition accounts for about 10% of hospitalized newborns during the same period.
