Dermatitis

Dermatitis refers to inflammation of the skin and is a general term for inflammatory skin diseases, not a standalone disease. There are many types of dermatitis, common ones include contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, neurodermatitis, and insect bite dermatitis. The causes of dermatitis are complex and may be related to contact with allergens, genetics, immunity, environmental factors, and abnormal skin barrier function. Common manifestations of dermatitis include skin redness, swelling, dryness, or itching, and may also involve blistering, oozing, crusting, or scaling of the skin.
