Pediatric sinusitis

Paranasal sinuses are a group of air-filled spaces within the skull surrounding the nasal cavity, including the maxillary, ethmoid, sphenoid, and frontal sinuses. Sinusitis refers to inflammation of the paranasal sinuses caused by various factors. Due to the unique anatomical structure of children's nasal cavities, pediatric sinusitis specifically refers to sinusitis occurring in children. This condition can be divided into acute and chronic types. The main symptoms of acute pediatric sinusitis include headache, nasal congestion, purulent discharge, fever, cough, sore throat, and decreased sense of smell. The main symptoms of chronic pediatric sinusitis include runny nose, nasal congestion, nosebleeds, headache, and decreased intelligence or memory.
