Detailed description
Secretory otitis media, also known as serous otitis media, is a non-suppurative inflammatory disease of the middle ear characterized by middle ear effusion, intact tympanic membrane, and hearing loss. The occurrence of this disease is often related to Eustachian tube dysfunction. Due to the short, flat, and wide characteristics of the Eustachian tube in children, they are more susceptible to this disease than adults.
