Acute tonsillitis

Acute tonsillitis is an acute infectious inflammation of the palatine tonsils, often occurring after upper respiratory tract infections, and is a common pharyngeal infection. Acute tonsillitis is common in children and adolescents, and is most likely to occur during seasonal changes and temperature fluctuations. It can be transmitted to others through droplets or direct contact. The main symptoms include enlarged tonsils, severe sore throat, increased pain when swallowing and coughing, and a soft, muffled voice.
