Neuroblastoma is a tumor composed of undifferentiated neuroblasts, primarily occurring in children. It is one of the most common childhood cancers, with nearly half of all cases diagnosed in infants under two years of age.
Neuroblastoma can originate anywhere within the sympathetic nervous system. The most common primary site is the adrenal gland (40%), followed by the abdomen (25%), chest (15%), neck (5%), and pelvic sympathetic ganglia (5%). Clinical symptoms vary depending on the site of origin.
