Childhood separation anxiety disorder

Childhood separation anxiety disorder (SAD) is one of the most common emotional disorders in children, primarily characterized by excessive anxiety experienced by children when separated from significant figures, such as attachment objects. It can occur at various stages of childhood. The main manifestations include worry about the attachment figure or concern about whether they will continue to receive care from the attachment figure after separation. The prevalence of childhood SAD ranges from 4.1% to 5.1%. The incidence varies across different age groups, with prevalence gradually decreasing as age increases.
