Congenital hypertrophic pyloric stenosis

Congenital hypertrophic pyloric stenosis is a common gastrointestinal anomaly in neonates, characterized by narrowing of the pylorus due to hypertrophy of the circular muscle of the stomach's pyloric ring. This condition is more common in male infants. The main symptoms include vomiting, dehydration, and an abdominal mass, with typical manifestations usually appearing during the 2nd to 3rd week after birth.
