Congenital syndactyly and polydactyly

Congenital syndactyly and polydactyly are common congenital hand deformities in children. Congenital syndactyly, also known as webbed fingers, is often bilateral and most commonly affects the 3rd and 4th fingers, rarely involving the thumb. It is most often characterized by soft tissue connection between two adjacent fingers, with occasional bone and joint involvement. It can sometimes be accompanied by toe deformities and other limb abnormalities. Congenital polydactyly is the most common congenital hand deformity, usually unilateral, and often coexists with other deformities such as brachydactyly and syndactyly. It most commonly affects the thumb and little finger.
