Detailed description
Hip dislocation refers to the condition where the joint between the femur and the pelvis loses its normal position and becomes misaligned. Specifically, it means the ball-shaped femoral head dislocates from the cup-shaped acetabulum of the pelvis.
It is usually caused by severe trauma, such as a traffic accident or a fall from a height. Hip dislocation can also occur after hip replacement surgery.
