Pfeiffer syndrome

Pierre Robin syndrome, also known as micrognathia-glossoptosis syndrome, is a type of cleft palate characterized by a small mandible and posterior displacement of the tongue base. It is a congenital disease, an autosomal dominant genetic disorder caused by embryonic developmental abnormalities, primarily featuring mandibular developmental deformities, glossoptosis, cleft lip, and airway obstruction. The incidence rate is 0.002% of newborns, with a mortality rate as high as 30% to 65%.
