Femoroacetabular impingement

Hip impingement syndrome is a condition caused by abnormal hip development, unreasonable exercise, or trauma, leading to damage to the acetabular rim or the growth of excess bone on the femoral head. This results in excessive wear and tear, damaging the internal structures of the hip joint and causing symptoms such as pain and discomfort. This is a common clinical condition, predominantly affecting young adults (20-40 years old), with a higher incidence in females. It is the most common cause of hip pain in young and middle-aged populations.
