Necrotizing fasciitis

Fascia is a tissue located beneath the skin, surrounding muscles, blood vessels, nerves, and organs. Subcutaneous fat and muscle fascia, which are commonly referred to, are both types of fascia. Necrotizing fasciitis is a disease where bacteria invade the subcutaneous tissue and fascia, causing soft tissue infection and ultimately leading to fascial necrosis. Individuals over 50 years old, as well as those with diabetes, cirrhosis, or obesity, are more susceptible to necrotizing fasciitis. This disease is characterized by an acute onset, rapid progression, strong destructive power, and high mortality rate. It progresses rapidly clinically and has a high mortality rate.
