Peroneal nerve entrapment syndrome refers to a condition caused by compression of the common peroneal nerve and its main branches. The common peroneal nerve extends from the popliteal fossa (behind the knee) to the lateral malleolus (outer ankle).
The main symptoms are pain, soreness, weakness in the calf, and foot drop.
