Femoral nerve injury

The femoral nerve is composed of lumbar nerve roots L2-L4, innervating the quadriceps femoris and sartorius muscles. Lesions along its course can easily lead to femoral nerve injury. Symptoms mainly include sensory disturbances in the anterior thigh and medial calf, diminished or absent patellar reflex, inability to extend the knee joint, and quadriceps femoris atrophy.
