Ischial tuberosity bursitis refers to a benign lump formed by congestion, edema, and exudation of the ischial bursa due to various reasons.
This condition is common in thin, middle-aged and elderly individuals who sit for prolonged periods.
This condition is usually asymptomatic. As the cyst grows, a lump may be felt in the buttocks, occasionally accompanied by a stinging pain and discomfort when sitting and under pressure.
