Refractive error

When the eye's accommodation is at rest, parallel light rays from outside the eye pass through its refractive system but fail to focus on the fovea of the retina, thus preventing clear image formation. This condition is known as refractive error. Refractive errors include myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism, and are common in adolescents. Patients often experience symptoms such as blurred vision and decreased visual acuity.
