Detailed description
A stye, also known as a hordeolum, is an acute purulent inflammation of the sebaceous glands near the eyelash follicles or the meibomian glands on the conjunctival surface (inner side) of the eyelid.
The main symptoms include a small lump on the eyelid, leading to redness and swelling of the eyelid. The lump contains yellow pus, and patients often feel a foreign body sensation in the eye, accompanied by pain, photophobia, and tearing.
