Coats disease

Coats disease, also known as exudative retinitis, is a progressive eye disease characterized by retinal telangiectasia with varying degrees of intraretinal or subretinal exudation and exudative retinal detachment. This disease is mostly seen in male adolescents, less common in females, and can also occur in adults. It usually affects one eye, occasionally both. The course of the disease is slow and progressive. It is often unnoticed in the early stages until vision significantly declines, or leukocoria or strabismus due to disuse appears.
