Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada syndrome

Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada syndrome, also known as Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada disease, uveomeningitic syndrome, uveomeningoencephalitis, or diffuse uveitis syndrome, is an acute diffuse uveitis with specific systemic symptoms. The uvea, also called the uveal tract, is the middle layer of the eyeball wall, located between the sclera and the retina, similar to the membrane between the eggshell and the egg white. This disease can occur at any age, but is most common in young and middle-aged adults between 20 and 40 years old.
