The conjunctiva is a thin, transparent, and highly vascular mucous membrane that covers the front of the eyeball and the inner surface of the eyelids. It secretes mucus to lubricate the cornea and provides protection.
Conjunctival nevus refers to a benign tumor caused by pigmentation on the surface of the conjunctiva. Malignant transformation is rare, and treatment is generally not required.
