Viral conjunctivitis is a common inflammation of the conjunctiva caused by a viral infection. It usually has an acute onset, presenting with eyelid hyperemia, conjunctival follicles, and enlarged preauricular lymph nodes. It is self-limiting.
It is highly contagious and spreads through contact.
